Carin Channing, LCSW
Founder & Lead Instructor

Carin Channing, LCSW, is a hands-on authority on rest and creativity. An author, therapist, and trainer, Carin's nurturing and transformative techniques have reached into therapy rooms, schoolrooms, prisons, airlines, architecture firms, state parks, the Grateful Dead community, and many other unexpected spaces.
Carin's clinical career began with volunteering at her undergraduate school's crisis hotline and has included almost every position a social worker can hold in inpatient and outpatient mental health facilities, nursing homes, community mental health clinics, and private practice. Today she is happiest being in front of the room, sharing the wisdom and knowledge she has gathered and developed.
With over 25 years providing continuing education to mental health professionals, Carin focuses on sharing accessible and effective tools that meld mindfulness, neuroscience, and creativity. Creator of The Therapy Booth (a traveling stand, like Lucy from Peanuts), Doodle Outreach (Connecting the World through Simple Creativity), and other interactive public art projects, Carin's creativity motto is Don't let the whimsy fool you. Having led programs for participants all over the world, she continues to be surprised by the simple and exciting practicality of these tools.
